First Street Bridge In Echo Park To Get $10M Makeover
Changes are coming to the smaller First Street Bridge that crosses over Glendale Boulevard in Echo Park.
The bridge, which is near the Bob Baker Marionette Theater, will receive about $10M in renovations, including widening it by 2.5 feet on each side. It also will be retrofitted for earthquakes, according to the Eastsider.
The First Street Bridge, which was built in 1942, is Echo Park’s largest bridge. Construction is not scheduled to begin until next year. [ELA]
