DTZ Managing Director Visits The Oval Office!
Lots of LA brokers have some pretty serious connections, but DTZ managing director Eric Moore may take the cake. What were you doing over Easter? Well whatever it was, Eric wins.
Eric tells us he was close friends with President Barack Obama at Occidental College when they were freshmen and sophomores together. The president personally invited Eric and the family to meet him at the White House (see evidence) where they spent about 40 minutes in the Oval Office hanging out, another hour with his assistant touring the West Wing, and the rest of the day at the White House Easter egg roll.
The two talked old memories, friends and even the commercial real estate business. Eric tells us Obama quipped about how gray his hair had gotten compared to Eric's, and that the two discussed his real estate work with nonprofits, government and education clients.
His 3-year-old son Miles was running around the Oval Office like it was his playroom, and while Eric was worried he might break some national treasure, Obama didn’t mind at all. Eric says Obama confessed to him he always wanted a son.
Eric's 10-year-old daughter Tara, who's AYSO all-star team just won the California State Championship, was thrilled at the chance to meet the leader of the free world. As for his wife, Karen, Eric tells us she was speechless.
