CIM Group Unveils 34-Story Tower That Would Be West Hollywood's Tallest
Since CIM Group's purchase of a West Hollywood cement plant last summer, one thing was clear: CIM had big plans for the property.
Now, that plan is becoming clearer. CIM wants to put a 34-story tower on the site, Urbanize LA reported, making it the tallest building in the city.
As proposed, the ground floor of the tower would have 30K SF of retail for a grocery store. Above the grocery store, the building will hold 514 apartments, about 25% of which would be designated as affordable.
The new development will be designed by Large Architecture. It is expected to begin the environmental review process this summer and go before the West Hollywood Planning Commission and City Council in the first half of 2024.
The 1.6-acre site lies on the border between West Hollywood and Los Angeles. For part of the property in Los Angeles city limits, CIM has planned a low-rise office building, Urbanize LA previously reported.
CIM also owns the nearby The Lot on Formosa studios, where HBO and Showtime lease space.
