USC Village nears completion

Construction is now complete on the 1.2M SF, $650M USC Village residential/mixed-use development.

The six-building, 15-acre complex features five individual residential colleges containing almost 700 housing units, nearly 2,500 beds and a central plant.

The project is designed by Harley Ellis Devereaux and built by Hathaway Dinwiddie. HED’s design process began four years ago.

USC undergraduates are moving in this month, according to HED business development guru Roy Reel.

Residential plans include two-, three- and four-bedroom units with and without kitchens. There are study lounges, multipurpose classrooms and laundry facilities on each floor.

The brick-lined paseo will connect USC’s main campus with the Village’s central clock tower and piazza — a primary student gathering area and event space.

The complex has 500 new trees and major retail tenants, including Trader Joe's, Amazon, Target, Bank of America, Starbucks and Wahlburgers.

USC will be having a grand opening celebration for the USC Village on Thursday.
