City Of Hope Raises Nearly $90k For Cancer Research

City of Hope held its third annual LA Real Estate Monte Carlo Game Night last month, and it was a sold-out event.

The fundraiser supported City of Hope’s CAR T-cell immunotherapy research for brain cancer.

Event sponsors included Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Charles Dunn and Hudson Pacific Properties.

Building Hope president Ada Chan of Bank of America Merrill Lynch tells Bisnow the organization was proud to have raised "nearly $90k for this incredible clinical trial that is expanding to help children with advanced brain cancers, including diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas.”

The little girl who inspired this year's fundraiser, Katie, died June 6, Ada tells us. "Katie and her parents, Jaime and David King, fought a hard battle with this cancer and we hope to continue the fundraise throughout the year to accelerate finding a cure for such an aggressive disease," Ada says.

Nearly 300 people attended the fundraiser, which has evolved into "another who’s who of real estate to support lifesaving research at City of Hope," says Hudson Pacific Properties chief risk officer Steve Jaffe, president of City of Hope’s LA Real Estate Council.
