New Hotel May Be Built Near USC
A seven-story hotel is being proposed north of the USC campus.
El Segundo's Vista Investments has filed plans with the city to redevelop the approximately 1.73-acre property at 3031 South Figueroa St., where The Vagabond Inn, which dates back to the 1960s, now stands, Urbanize LA reports.
The project would consist of a seven-story, dual-branded hotel building with 275 guest rooms, 1,400 SF of ground-floor restaurant space and parking for 173 vehicles.
An extended-stay hotel brand will operate 150 all-suite rooms, while a select-service brand will have the remaining 125 rooms.
The project is on the MyFigueroa streetscape improvement project route.
City staff is recommending approval for the project with an agreement in which the developer would pay $500k to improve green space in the area. [ULA]
