$300M Project In Redondo Beach Moves Ahead
CenterCal Properties' plans to redevelop 36 acres around the Redondo Beach Pier are getting closer to becoming a reality.
The Redondo Beach City Planning Department just released the final environmental impact report with details about the proposed $300M project.
It would consist of a waterfront village with more than 500k SF of recreational space, new plans for a specialty theater, creative offices and a public market, according to UrbanizeLA.
A new main street also would be part of the development.
There would be about 11 acres of greenspace on site as well as retail and restaurants.
As part of the project, a 120-key boutique hotel would be built in place of some current buildings on the south side of the property.
There are also plans to revitalize San Pedro's waterfront.
Construction for the Redondo Beach project could begin in 2017. [ULA]
