475 Apartments May Be Built Near Row DTLA
Developers are continuing to flock to the Arts District.
AvalonBay Communities has filed plans with the LA City Department of Planning to build 475 live/work apartments on 3.8 acres at 668 South Alameda St.
To make way for the project, a cold storage warehouse at the site would have to be torn down. The project would include 5% of the apartments set aside for affordable housing.
The project would also include nearly 45,500 SF of commercial space and 703 parking spots, according to Curbed.
The property was marketed by CBRE as the "last remaining sizeable development site in the neighborhood."
The project, filed by AvalonBay SVP Mark Janda, would be close to the 30-acre Row DTLA, which will include 1.3M SF of office space, about 100 stores, more than a dozen restaurants and a 4,000-car parking garage. [Curbed]
