Owner Of Burbank Town Center Wants To Build A Hotel And Residences
A proposed hotel and a few hundred apartments near Burbank Town Center could add a new dimension to efforts to revitalize the mall.
Mall owner CAPREF Manager LLC announced its plans in April to rehab the mall, including an outdoor escalator and renovating the interior, the Los Angeles Times reports.
CAPREF's plans also include building 265 apartments on the site where Office Depot now stands, a 70-unit condo complex on the Corner Bakery site, and a 200-room hotel to replace Chevys Fresh Mex. A planned-development amendment would be required to build the hotel and the apartments.
There are separate plans to work with Crown Realty and Development to build 765 apartments in a seven-story, mixed-use project to replace the space that will be vacant when IKEA leaves. That project would include 35k SF of ground-level retail. [LAT]
