LA Convention Center Redesign Could Add Up To Big Money
It looks like the City of LA will have to fork over more cash to pay for the upcoming redesign of the LA Convention Center.
A new report from LA City administrative officer Miguel Santana says the plan will cost $720M instead of the initial $470M estimate.
However, if a private developer were to fund the project and expand it to allow for a hotel, retail space and residential, it could cost more than $1B, according to LA Downtown News. Miguel has proposed having the city use a public-private partnership.
A design from an architectural team of Populous and HMC Architects was chosen for the $470M project.
City officials are considering which option to pursue. [LADN]
