Historic Building In Westlake To Possibly Become A Hotel Tower
New plans filed this week with the LA City Planning Department show a developer has plans to turn a medical building on Wilshire Boulevard in Westlake into a hotel.
The 88-year-old, 13-story building, one block east of Alvarado Street and near the Westlake/MacArthur Park subway station, was once Crocker Bank.
The property, which is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, would be turned into a 220-room hotel.
A 41-story tower with 478 apartments would be part of the project, according to Curbed.
Out of those units, 39 would be set aside for affordable housing. [Curbed]
