Design Your Future At Avant
Fifield Cos pioneered designer-studded apartment openings with its K2 project in Chicago, and they’re doing it again as part of LA-based multifamily developer Century West Partners with Avant Apartments Designer Showcases, Tues-Thurs this week at 1340 S Figueroa in South Park. Vice chair and principal Randy Fifield tells us the secret is stellar community partners (Coolhaus Ice Cream, Umami Burger, Cake Monkey Bakery, etc.) and to-die-for design firms (a give-in, the LA Mart is up the street) like Urban Colony, Cort Furniture, and Cordrey Collection (which designed the Sex and the City Samantha apartment, above). The three-night event will showcase eight model apartments and Fifield’s vision of a downtown where Gen Y can live/work/play.
Here are Randy and Steve prepping the red carpet which features Caffe Primo, the building’s first tenant. The mid-rise (100 steps from the Lakers at Staples Center) also features a theater, WiFi café, pool deck, gym, and special area for furry friends. And South Park is no longer a secret, Randy says, with charter schools popping up and the trolley on its way. The three-phase development includes 76 finished units (including four high ceiling live/work units), 171 additional apartments coming this summer, and 193 more when the third phase opens in early 2015. RSVP here to see your well-designed future.
