New Affordable Housing Project Could Be Built Near Montecito Apartments
Nonprofit developer Thomas Safran & Associates wants to build an affordable housing project next to the Montecito Apartments it owns in Hollywood.
The firm submitted plans to the city last week to build on the parking lot of the 82-year-old apartment building at 6650 West Franklin Ave.
The project could have 68 affordable housing units and 104 parking spaces, Urbanize LA reports. A lobby would connect the two buildings.
The development could only be built if it received density bonus incentives that would include an increase in height.
The Montecito Apartments are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, adding an extra layer of scrutiny on any proposal.
