Neighbors Want Proposed Apartment Building In Los Feliz Downsized
Santa Monica's Dynamic Developments plans to build a five-story mixed-use project at the corner of Western and Franklin avenues that is not sitting well with some Los Feliz residents.
The residents want the project downsized, and have created an online petition against the project, which would replace a Valero station at the intersection and some small buildings, Curbed Los Angeles reports.
The petition states the 96-unit building would be bigger than others in the area and out of character for the neighborhood. The petition states the project should be limited to 52 units total.
Dynamic Developments is asking the city for permission to make the building taller than local zoning laws allow in exchange for setting aside 16 of the units for low-income tenants.
