New Designs Revealed For Lucas Museum Of Art In Exposition Park
It made news earlier this year when it was learned George Lucas selected LA's Exposition Park over San Francisco for his new, $1B museum.
New renderings for the project have been unveiled as part of an upcoming presentation to the LA City Planning Commission. The four-story Museum of Narrative Art will be built on Vermont Avenue south of Exposition Boulevard, Urbanize LA reports.
The 115-foot-tall building is slated to include 300K SF. Chinese architect Ma Yansong is designing the project.
It will include exhibition space and two theaters in two wings with an archive, classrooms, offices and a library in the south wing.
There would also be a restaurant and a roof garden on the fifth level.
Construction is expected to begin next January, and the museum is slated to open in 2021.
