Most Expensive House For Sale In The Nation Is In Bel Air
The most expensive house in the nation, Chartwell, just hit the market in Bel-Air, but it is better known as the exterior used for "The Beverly Hillbillies."
The $350M estate, previously owned by former Univision CEO Jerry Perenchio, sits on about 10 acres and includes a 25K SF main house, a tennis court, a 45-car garage and a 75-foot swimming pool, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Architect Sumner Spaulding built the 84-year-old mansion, which Perenchio bought 31 years ago. He also acquired nearby properties in subsequent years. He died in May.
The property is listed by Hilton & Hyland's Jeff Hyland, Drew Fenton and Gary Gold, Coldwell Banker Global Luxury's Joyce Rey, Jade Mills and Alexandra Allen, and Berkshire Hathaway Home Services' Drew Gitlin and Susan Gitlin.
