New Owner's Plans For The Playboy Mansion
While the Playboy Mansion was bought in June by Metropoulos & Co principal Daren Metropoulos, the exact plans for the property are still not known.
Hugh Hefner put the mansion up for sale for $200M in January, with the requirement that he be allowed to stay in the house until his death.
Daren is heir to his billionaire father's fortune, which derives from Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, Chef Boyardee meatballs and Bumble Bee tuna, according to the New York Times. He lives next door to the Playboy Mansion.
People who know him speculate what he might do with the mansion in the future, from restoring the property to possibly turning it into a hotel, which could receive opposition from the Holmby Westwood Property Owners Association.
His family unsuccessfully tried to buy the mansion six years ago. [NYT]
