$250M Project Could Be Built Near The Queen Mary In Long Beach

Plans to build a $250M entertainment complex in Long Beach adjacent to the Queen Mary were submitted to city officials Wednesday.

Urban Commons is proposing the development as a way to help fund badly needed repairs on the ship that could total $289M over the next five years, the LA Times reports.

The project would be built on 65 acres of waterfront and would include nearly 700K SF of retail, a 200-room hotel and an amphitheater for concerts.

There would also be different entry points by land, water and air and a 2,400-foot-long boardwalk.

The first North American location of London's Urban Legacies, which would offer around 20 experiential activities in a 150K SF facility, would also be part of the plan.

The development would take several years to complete, but Urban Commons could break ground within two years after securing the necessary approvals.
