Soho House Eying Larry Ellison's Failed Malibu Restaurant?
The fancy pants private club is apparently interested in the 6,900 SF property on PCH where Larry Ellison's Nikita restaurant closed in December. The two-story property is along a stretch of PCH full of billionaires, including such neighbors as David Geffen and Eli Broad. A Soho house spokesperson tells the Hollywood Reporter the report is not true, but that it is "always being shown new buildings." The paper says Malibu insiders claim the deal is all but done.
This comes after the London-based club announced its plans to open a massive 80k SF spot it will call "Soho Warehouse." The club is reportedly eying this warehouse at 405 Mateo St in the Arts District, but nothing concrete has come out. Soho House has been looking to ramp up its global footprint as of late, fueled by a $383M investment from its billionaire owner, Ron Burkle. [THR]
