A Day at the Beach For Charity
The hard-hitting world of brokerage can sometimes be a day at the beach. The SoCal offices of Avison Young participated in a cleanup at Huntington Beach for the firm's inaugural Global Day of Giving. Employees in 60 AY offices joined in local volunteer projects. Some 45 SoCal employees from AY's five offices in LA, Santa Monica, and Irvine donated time to sort out debris, working with the California Department of Parks and Recreation.
Amit Parekh in AY's Downtown LA office organized the event, as the 2014 Young Guns youth group leader for SoCal. He tells us they picked the beach cleanup, in part, to take advantage of our beautiful weather. In addition, Huntington Beach provided the perfect central location for all the SoCal offices to meet.
John Tronson, Thor Lee, Steven Tronson, Mark Evanoff, Erin Byrne, Chase Gordon, and Joseph Gabbaian look entirely too happy for hard labor. The Global Day of Giving is part of AY's Global Citizenship efforts, with an eye toward community development and sustainability.
