Angels In Manchester: NOMA's 200K SF Office Market Prayer
As if by coincidence, just a day after Bruntwood SciTech unveilled plans for a 220K SF speculative office building at the Circle Square development at Manchester's Oxford Road, rivals at the other side of the city have applied for planning permission for the fractionally smaller 200K SF 4 Angel Square office block at NOMA.
Development manager MEPC has submitted plans for the block, which kicks off the next phase at the 20-acre development. MEPC and the site's owners, Hermes, have their eyes on big tech occupiers.
The new 11-storey office building will sit on the corner of Corporation Street and Miller Street and is NOMA’s first speculative new build office development, with MEPC looking to capitalise on soaring demand for workspace in Manchester thanks to the city’s continued growth.
Designed by Manchester-based architects SimpsonHaugh, the Grade-A office building will bring over 2,000 new workers to NOMA, joining the community of businesses, residents and creatives who have already made the area their home.
In total, NOMA will provide 2.5M SF of both new-build and renovated office space situated alongside housing, public realm, retail and leisure opportunities.
Global e-commerce giant Amazon announced last year it would be opening the company’s first UK headquarters outside of London at Hanover, a redeveloped drapery warehouse that is part of the listed estate and has been turned into contemporary workspace.
