Forget Networking, Think Petworking As Manchester Office Occupiers Embrace Canine Cool
Scooters, ping-pong, free beer on Fridays — and now the latest office amenity to grab Manchester arrives with a bark. This time it has four legs and a waggy tail.
Petworking is hosted by the Spinningfield's outpost of WeWork and organised by Simon Burgess of Dogs Friendly MCR and Marian Arnold-Lawson of Business Introductions. It is intended to take occupiers' contact book and turn it canine, the Manchester Evening News reports.
The event builds on the well-observed city park phenomenon of the sociable dog-walker: If you want people to talk to you, make sure you have a dog to break the ice.
Fifty humans along with a 22-strong selection of dachshunds, chihuahuas, Newfoundlands and cavapoos made it to the first event in the 60K SF suite at Allied London's 300K SF No 1 Spinningfield development.
