Tragedy Strikes Boca Raton Commercial Real Estate Firm
Tragedy struck the South Florida real estate community today as we learned that seven executives from Boca Raton-based Pebb Enterprises were killed in a small plane crash in Akron. While Pebb officials did not identify those who perished—save to say "two principals and five employees" on its website here—local media reports one of the victims was Pebb's Diane Smoot, 50.
According to The Daily Mail, Pebb officials had been traveling on business since Monday on a 10-seat Hawker H25 (similar to the one here), with numerous stops in the Midwest, scouting locations for shopping centers. It took off Tuesday from Dayton for a 36-minute flight to Akron Fulton International Airport. Reports say the jet came down two miles from that airport and collided with an apartment building, disintegrating on impact. No known victims were on the ground at the time. [Daily Mail]
