Apartments Under Way on Former Golf Course
Golf courses, it turns out, don't last forever (especially considering all the divots we add)—at least not when there's apartments to be developed on a prime site in South Florida. ZOM will start work on the 404-unit The Residences at Palm Aire in Pompano Beach on 27 acres that used to be a golf course at the intersection of West Atlantic Boulevard and Florida's Turnpike. Similar upscale product has been well received, ZOM chief development officer Greg West tells us, referring to the company's Casa Palma development in Coconut Creek, which opened about a year ago. The new project is a JV of ZOM with an investor advised by UBS Global Asset Management. PNC Bank is providing the construction financing.
