Coral Gables Dominates Office Market
The busiest South Florida office market last year was Coral Gables, with 184k SF absorbed, besting Airport/Doral and Brickell at 140k SF and 126k SF, respectively, according to CBRE. Blanca Commercial Real Estate vice chairman Danet Linares tells us the market's poised for an equally busy 2015. Coral Gables has long been a popular business district, but it's even more desirable now, with domestic and multinational companies attracted to the market’s proximity to the airport, plentiful parking and walkability.
Recently the owner of the 205k SF BAC Colonnade, TA Realty, tapped Blanca to lease up the remaining 65k SF in the property, which is at 2333 Ponce de Leon Blvd. Danet says the building's already a desirable Class-A address, but ownership isn't leaving anything to chance, and will soon start on a series of upgrades, including a remodeling of the tower’s entrance lobby, as well as the addition of a fitness center and ground-floor café. Danet, along with colleagues Andres del Corral and Flavia Eternod will spearhead leasing and marketing efforts for the property.
