After Latest Florida Buy, Preiss Co Hungry For More Student Housing Here
One of the country's largest student housing operators has picked up a complex near the University of South Florida. The Preiss Co purchased 4050 Lofts, a 722-bed complex in Tampa that was part of a three-property portfolio of other student housing campuses, including a 358-bed facility next to Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and a 162-bed facility near North Carolina State U. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
"We already have achieved our previously stated goal of adding 10 properties in 2016 by the midpoint of the year and continue to have an aggressive appetite for more," says Preiss founder Donna Preiss, who says the latest was bought in a JV with unnamed equity partners.
Located on 10 acres at 4050 Rocky Circle, across the street from the 42,000-student campus, 4050 Lofts will undergo renovations and upgrades.
