Tennessee Export Economy In Good Shape
Good news for Nashville's industrial market: Tennessee’s export economy is relatively strong, according to a new report, Global Commerce, from the Business and Economic Research Center at Middle Tennessee State University. That's despite the strength of the dollar and weaker global economies and other circumstances that have made conditions harder for exporting US goods.
The value of exports from Tennessee in Q1 2016 was $7.83B, a 0.66% increase from a year earlier. That puts the state at No. 10 among all states, even while total US exports were down about 7% for the first quarter. Much of Tennessee's growth was concentrated in places that support the automotive industry.
