A Trump Hotel For Nashville, But Not Called That
Trump Hotels has signed 17 letters of intent with potential owners in various parts of the country for its new Scion hotel brand, including one in Nashville. The hotels, should they be developed, will not only be part of the president's holdings (he has said he would put his real estate holdings into a trust but will not divest from them), but also the Trump Organization’s first line of hotels that don’t carry the president’s name, the Wall Street Journal reports. No timetable for development has been finalized.
Besides Nashville, other markets for the Scion brand include Austin and Cincinnati. The Trump Organization would not identify the developers interested in creating a Scion in Nashville or any of the other markets. The WSJ characterized the hotels as "slightly less upscale," which would aim to cater to younger travelers. That would mean rates of $200 to $300/night rather than beginning at $700/night, as standard Trump properties do. [WSJ]
