Tru By Hilton And Hampton Inn Planned For The Gulch
Oak Ridge-based developer Shailesh Patel acquired a site late last week in the Gulch, where he plans an eight- or nine-story building that will include two hotels: a Tru by Hilton and a Hampton Inn & Suites. Each brand will have 100 rooms.
It's the latest in the Great Nashville Hotel Boom of the 2010s. There are some 3,000 hotel rooms under construction in Davidson County, according to the Nashville Business Journal. Many more are planned. In SoBro alone, developers are proposing or building 4,475 hotel rooms.
The Tru by Hilton is a rapidly growing mid-scale hotel brand that has about 300 developments deals in the works. According to Hilton, the brand will include "reimagined public spaces, including an open lobby with four zones for lounging, working, eating or playing," among other features thought to appeal to Millennials, such as mobile check-in and digital keys.
