Moratorium Proposed On Antioch Multifamily Development
Three Antioch-area Metro Council members—Jacobia Dowell, Karen Johnson and Tanaka Vercher—want to temporarily halt issuing building and grading permits for multifamily developments in their districts. The moratorium would be for 120 days; its proponents say Metro needs to invest in more roads, sewers and other infrastructure in the area before more multifamily construction proceeds.
In other words, such development should wait until a new master plan for the area is in place to steer growth to places that can handle it, reports the Tennessean. Metro planning director Doug Sloan disagrees, calling the bill unhealthy for the growth of Nashville. [Tennessean]
