TEA Buys Site For New HQ; Old HQ Sold To Redeveloper
The Tennessee Education Association is spending $4M to buy the vacant Ben West Library at 225 Polk St, while at the same time selling its HQ building at 801 Second Ave N to Dallas developer Provident Realty Advisors.
Provident plans to develop as many as 300 apartments on the site, reports the Nashville Business Journal. The goal of the TEA's purchase would be to redevelop the library building in Germantown, which has been empty for about a decade, into a new HQ for the teachers union. [NBJ]
