Corsair Distillery Owner Buys Historic SoBro Building
Investors that include Corsair Distillery owner Darek Bell and Chicagoan Marc Bushala paid $6.2M for 614 Fifth Ave. South, a historic building in SoBro. Tuck-Hinton Architects has occupied the building for more than two decades.
Bell, who besides owning Corsair is a partner in Bell & Associates Construction, said the new owners' plan is to preserve the former church built in 1871, the Tennessean reports. Otherwise plans for its future have not been unveiled. The structure was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
Bushala is known for investing in distillery brands, including in the new Blind Pig Distilling Co., a craft distillery and brewery that is planned for Chicago's West Loop.
Tuck-Hinton Architects plans to relocate next year to the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood.
