Taco John's Looks To Take On Taco Bell In Nashville
Spring Hill-based developer American Development Partners will go before the Metro Planning Commission next month to ask for various changes to the zoning of a 2.4-acre site in Antioch that would facilitate the development of two restaurants.
One of those restaurants might be a Taco John's, which has nearly 400 locations (mostly in the West and Midwest) but none yet in Nashville. The other restaurant on the site has not been specified yet.
Van Ingram, vice president of franchise development with Wyoming-based Taco John's International Inc., told the Tennessean that Nashville would be an ideal market because the only competition in the quick-service Mexican niche is Taco Bell. Excellent Tacos LLC has a franchise agreement to open 20 Taco John's in Nashville and Chattanooga in the next four years, with an option for 32 more.
