Record Year For Building Permits In Nashville
Metro Nashville approved $3.65B of building permits in fiscal year 2015-16, which ended June 30. That's a record amount by a considerable margin—last FY was the previous high at $2.4B. In fact, the amount of construction permitted in FY 2015-16 is greater than 2012-13 and 2013-14 combined, reports the Nashville Business Journal, citing Metro government data.
The average permit was for $284,082 of work, a 36% increase from the previous fiscal year, with an average of $14.6M and 51 permits every business day throughout the year. There were a total of 12,841 building permits in the recently completed FY, a record and 10% more than the permits issued in the previous fiscal year. [NBJ]
