Ascent West Takes Dealmaking To A New Level

The goal of Ascent West is deal generation. The 42-hour retreat has been strategically designed to facilitate connections between current and prospective partners, and ultimately to get deals done.

There are 40 local cocktails, dinners and other experiential events to gather the Ascent community across the country this year. Ascent East, the second biannual national retreat, takes place Nov. 8-10 in Miami.

Before the retreat, the Ascent team works tirelessly to determine your needs and objectives; it then identifies the right people for you to meet at the event and helps to facilitate organic connections with them.

Ascent activities are aimed at creating bonds via shared experiences — not your typical networking fare. Think art walks, wine-tasting, mindfulness sessions and SoulCycle, among other exciting pursuits. We have even taken our more adventurous members on skydiving and exotic race car driving excursions.

Members can also connect via Ascent’s proprietary mobile app, which offers access to the top players in local markets and nationally on a single, seamless platform. Think of it as Tinder for equity investors and sponsors.

Ascent membership is exclusive, limited to the top 400 individuals from the nation’s top equity investors, operators and developers.

Our members work in institutional private equity, development (for both local and national companies), and in acquisition and deal generation. Our members are professionals being groomed to take over, or are already responsible for, family offices. Our ranks also include young founders and entrepreneurs within the real estate sphere.

Just ask Dalfen Group’s Sean Dalfen, who over the past two years has closed close to 3M SF of deals with partners he met at Ascent and its sister event, Escape (2.1M SF in Ohio and 800K SF in south Texas).

Ascent is unlike any other real estate event you have been to. There are no panels of prognosticators pedaling market projections. Instead, the event focuses on idea-generating content in the spirit of TED talks, the Aspen Ideas Festival and Davos Economic Forum.
