JPMorgan Doesn't Completely Abandon Far West Side
JPMorgan has leased 130,000SF on Manhattan's Far West Side one month after it jettisoned plans for a new $6.5B HQ in the area's monumental Hudson Yards development. America's largest bank will consolidate its tristate digital teams over the entire ninth floor of Brookfield's 16-story, 1.7M SF 450 West 33rd Street (aka Manhattan West). The tenant had been in talks for the space at least since September, before announcing it had dropped what would have been among the biggest single-tenant relocations in NYC history. The building is currently undergoing a $200M renovation as the neighborhood around it begins its dramatic transformation into a "city within a city" and, as the Wall Street Journal notes, a potential new tech corridor.
