Real Estate Crowdfunding Hits Europe
As Fundrise brings crowdfunding to US real estate, UK startup BrickVest is following suit across the pond.
The company opened for business Wednesday, and allows investors to put as little as 1,000 euro into investments around the world, Bloomberg reports.
“Traditionally, commercial real estate investment has suffered from issues around quality, transparency, liquidity and access," said Emmanuel Lumineau, BrickVest CEO and a former real estate investment banker.
Fundrise COO Brandon Jenkins sees their platform—which got started in 2012—as providing similar benefits, he told Bisnow in early February.
Unlike Fundrise, BrickVest will charge a 3% upfront cost on equity deals. Fundrise only charges once the investor has made money. [Bloomberg]
