Top 50 PERE Firms Break Five-Year Fundraising Record
$271.1B in capital was raised by the top 50 private equity real estate firms over the past five years—more than in any other five-year period, reflecting a 21% boost from last year’s 2010 to 2015 total.
All of the top 50 firms broke $2B in capital raised—an increase from $1.785B last year, and just $1.3B the year before, Private Equity Real Estate News reports.
The biggest firms took up a large chunk, with the top 10 private equity real estate companies taking up 55% of the total capital raised.
As expected, Blackstone led the pack—despite its rough patch over the past six months. The world’s largest alternative asset manager raised $53.8B—a whopping 20% of the top 50’s total funds. [PERE]
