COPT Snags Amazon
COPT has decided to keep the Loudoun County data center party going with a little help from Amazon. The REIT announced earlier this month that it had purchased a 34-acre site in Ashburn from St. John Properties for $14M to construct two new data centers. And sources tells us COPT has lined up Amazon as the anchor tenant for one. (No word yet if that has affected its Amazon seller rating.) It'll break ground on that first building (200k SF) in April, says Avison Young's Rob Walters, above, who repped COPT in the sale. Rob tells us he also brokered the build-to-suit agreement with the first center's tenant, although he declined to identify which one.
