GRS | Title director Stephen Francis tells us that the title company was recently hired to assist with MeadWestvaco's $1.1B sale of timberland. It was a five-state transaction, with 125k acres sold in Virginia alone. Over 600 parcels needed to be examined and underwritten with title commitments, with some properties having boundaries as obscure as the pigsty that was located there decades before.
