Hotel Apartment Rents for Record-Breaking $500K A Month
A floor-through apartment at NYC's Pierre Hotel has found a renter willing to fork over $500K per month, making the property the city's most expensive rental ever. The 4,800 SF, six-bedroom unit takes up the 39th floor of the 5th Avenue building and offers views of Central Park, which is just across the street. The unit had been on the market for nearly six weeks and was listed by Town’s Therese Bateman and Andres Perea-Garzon.
Last year, the Pierre's penthouse apartment hit the market for a record $125M, though it was subsequently slashed to a meager $95M. Perhaps the 39th floor renter could be a spendthrift thanks to a short-term stay: he or she will only spend one month in the unit.
