NYC: Manhattan's Conference of the Year
Congrats to Jared Kushner and the NY Commercial Observer for assembling such luminaries as we snapped this week at the Metropolitan Club: SL Green CEO Marc Holliday (the city's largest office landlord), GGP CEO Sandeep Mathrani (one of the country's largest mall owners), Shorenstein CEO Doug Shorenstein (the iconic San Francisco-based developer), and Boston Properties chairman Mort Zuckerman. Sandeep is stoked that retail is up 25% since '07. Doug joked that he can state with "certainty" we don't know where interest rates are going. And Mort, who worries about sluggish economic growth, says the definition of an optimist is someone who thinks this is the best of all possible worlds, and a pessimist is someone who fears the optimist is right.
