Entrepeneur Puts Backyard Igloo On Airbnb For $200/Night During Blizzard
Airbnb lets you list all sorts of homes, from airplanes suites to bamboo cottages, but the home-sharing giant apparently draws the line at backyard igloos during historically bad blizzards.
After putting up Brooklyn entrepreneur Patrick Horton's $200/night "boutique winter igloo for two," Airbnb quickly took it down for not meeting "occupancy standards."
Even though Horton didn't generate any RevPAR from the igloo, the news quickly hit the wire—and like a true entrepreneur, Horton has found a way to put the hype to good use.
"Changing my Tinder photo to the igloo," Horton tweeted shortly after. "That image has gotten way more love than the rest of the photos I have on there. #RightSwipeTheIgloo." [Fortune]
