Cushman & Wakefield’s New York investment team co-head Nat Rockett is joining Marcus & Millichap in yet another departure coming in the wake of DTZ and C&W’s $2B merger. After starting his career at Massey Knakal, Nat was a member of the investment sales team at Cushman that made over $875M in deals last year. C&W acquired Massey Knakal in January, and decided to implement Massey’s territory system. When this happened, many of Cushman’s brokers’ place in the system was left questionable, which eventually set the move in motion. "I’m a legacy Cushman person," Nat says. "The Massey Knakal system, combined with the reality at Cushman, meant it was just time to move on."In his career, Nat’s completed 70 transactions worth more than $6.5B, and was awarded the Real Estate Board of New York’s Most Ingenious Sales Deal of the Year award in 2012 for the sale of 88 Leonard St (pictured). Marcus & Millichap district manager J.D. Parker said Nat will help M&M’s investment team—which made $1.1B in deals last year—grow. [TRD]
