Durst to Change Plea on Federal Gun Charge
On Dec. 17, New York real estate heir Robert Durst will change his plea to a federal weapons charge in New Orleans, as his murder trial awaits in LA. Durst was arrested on March 14, and pleaded not guilty to a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
A day later, HBO aired its final episode of The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, where Durst is heard talking to himself, saying, "I killed them all," Bloomberg reports. It's believed he was referring to his first wife, his LA friend Susan Berman, and a man in Galveston, TX.
However, his extradition to California, where he's been charged with Berman's murder, has been delayed by the weapons case. Durst's lawyer released a statement declaring his innocence, and saying Durst is eager to get to California for the chance to prove it.
Durst's lawyer helped him get off murder charges in Texas 12 years ago, after he admitted to a jury that he had cut up his neighbor and dumped the remains in Galveston Bay. [Bloomberg]
