This Startup Is Ready To Break Ground On A Hyperloop Test Track
Los Angeles-based startup Hyperloop Transportation Technologies announced it has filed permits to build a five-mile test track for its Hyperloop in Quay Valley, CA, halfway between San Francisco and LA.
Construction will begin by mid-2016, Business Insider reports. The company secured 7,500 acres for the test track in February 2015. The idea for the Hyperloop was hatched by Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, who opened up his plans two years ago, inviting others to take charge.
So far, HTTP is one of two companies to take up the offer; the similarly named Hyperlook Technologies announced last month it has acquired 50 acres in North Las Vegas to construct its own test track. [BI]
