White House Adviser Jared Kushner To Cooperate With Investigations Into Russian Connections
An attorney representing President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner said the white house adviser will cooperate with Congress regarding the investigation into his past meetings with Russians.
People familiar with the ongoing federal probe into possible Russian interference in the presidential election said though Kushner has yet to be contacted by the FBI, federal investigators have analyzed Kushner’s Russian contacts, the Wall Street Journal reports.. One of those contacts is Russia’s state-run bank Vnesheconombank (VEB), which financed a deal in 2010 that helped the troubled Trump International Hotel and Tower project in Toronto.
The Journal said VEB was identified by analysts as a funding source for politically important projects to the Russian government. Kushner met with VEB chairman Sergei Gorkov a month after the Toronto project went into receivership, and now the Senate Intelligence Committee wants Kushner to discuss that meeting, among others.
