After 6 Months, JLL's Kylie Kendrick Out As Chief Operating Officer
Roughly six months after her appointment as JLL’s chief operating officer, Kylie Kendrick is leaving the company.
Kendrick’s departure, effective at the end of this year, was revealed in a filing by JLL with the Securities and Exchange Commission. CoStar was the first to report her exit.
Kendrick started in June and was the first to hold the global position. In the announcement of her appointment, JLL CEO Christian Ulbrich said that the COO would be “responsible for driving efficiency through robust and disciplined operational processes" and would directly oversee business services and JLL’s transformation office.
As part of the job, Kendrick would "contemplate" relocating from London to JLL's Chicago headquarters, according to the announcement, but the company previously declined to comment on whether she would. According to CoStar, the move hadn't yet happened.
According to SEC filings, Kendrick received a base salary of £385K per year, based on a conversion from $500K a year.
She was also in line to receive a sign-on bonus of £330K, or about $440K, with £165K paid after her start date and the rest on her one-year anniversary at the company. The bonus was subject to pro rata repayment if Kendrick left the company voluntarily or was terminated for cause within a year of receiving the bonus.
Before JLL, Kendrick worked as the managing director and global head of wholesale banking operations at HSBC. She was previously an executive at Lloyds Banking Group, Deutsche Bank, Barclays and Deloitte Consulting, and has 16 years of experience in operations and business management at global financial institutions.
“I would like to thank Kylie for her contribution as our Chief Operating Officer in her time with JLL, and to wish her all the best for the future," JLL's Ulbrich said in an emailed statement to Bisnow. "In particular, I would like to acknowledge the advice and insights she has provided to us.”
In SEC filings announcing Kendrick’s departure, JLL said it doesn't have a replacement lined up to fill her position. The company does have a chief operating officer for the Americas, Katie McNaughton, who was appointed in August.
