London’s Subway Is Getting A $20B Expansion
London is known for its crazy traffic, but now the hot luxury market—often in direct competition with New York for investment—is undergoing a new mass transit project that will alleviate its congestion problems.
England’s capital is adding 10 new underground stations to its subway system, which will likely bring mass transit to 1.5 million more people, Bloomberg reports.
Crossrail, as the new $20B railway is called, has been in the works since 2009. The London government has been burrowing underneath the city to find new paths for the tunnel.
When complete, the 10 underground stations will allow Crossrail to run for 60 miles underneath London. [Bloomberg]
