Making the Most of a Millennial-Dominated Workforce
Millennials already make up 34% of the workforce, and that number is expected to grow to roughly 46% by 2020, UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School reports. And while Millennials have a different approach to work than their Gen X and Baby Boomer counterparts, they also bring several strengths. UNC breaks the two groups into “cowboys” and “collaborators,” describing the cowboys as older generations who value structure and job security, and collaborators as Millennials who prefer teamwork and flexibility. A few things Millennials need from their employers to get the most out of the work relationship are coaching, collaboration, clear measures and motivation. [UNC]
